History

Our SENSORIO division is closely linked to BEA ; we therefore share a common history up to our creation in 2007 after which we enjoyed our first successes.

1965 Creation of the company Bureau d'Electronique Appliquée with the objective of developing electronic projects for industrial applications.
1972 VG017 the first product in a range of Doppler-effect hyper frequency sensors for automatic door opening.
1985 (and 2000) BEA receives the Oscar for Exports from the Belgian government.
1987 Creation of American subsidiary : BEA Inc. in Pittsburgh, USA.
1988 Creation of a research bureau B.E.R. (Belgian Electronic Research).
1990 First application with IR2000 presence sensor for interior  train doors on ICE1.
1992 Creation of the CD range : radars for opening, equipped with a microprocessor for digital processing.
1995 An opening sensor used as a remote switch goes on sale.
This sensor is particularly suitable for sterile areas and clean rooms
within the hospital environment and the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
1996 The technological revolution starts thanks to EAGLE, a range of very small, side-angled, remote-control sensors with flat aerials.
ISO 9001: 1994 certification.
1997 Creation of the first Asian subsidiary : BEA Electronic, in Beijing, China.
1999 ACTIV8 is the first sensor to combine opening and safety, combining the microwave and infrared technologies to provide comfort and safety to the users.
2000 Creation of a range of sensors for opening industrial automatic doors.
These sensors recognise approach and departure and make the distinction between vehicles and pedestrians.
BEA receives the Global Export Award from the Walloon Export Agency (Awex).
2001 Creation of a South American subsidiary : BEA Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Creation of a second Asian subsidiary : BEA Japan, in Tokyo, Japan.
Creation of a third Asian subsidiary : BEA HK Ltd, in Hong Kong.
2002 Integration into the UK-based HALMA group.
2003 ISO 9001: 2000 certification.
2005 4SAFE : new generation of safety sensors for swinging and revolving doors with the size, accuracy and stability for an increased area.
2007 Creation of  SENSORIO; division dedicated to markets other than those related to pedestrian and industrial automatic doors.
2008 Active presence on the electronic security system and RFID markets.
2009 Launch of the LZR® range, considerably improving the level of protection for users and objects.
Railway market is the first beneficiary of this LASER technology which is based on the principle of time of flight.
2010 ISO 9001: 2008 certification.
First application with LZR®-RS300 (safety sensor for the exterior train doors) on the GKB by Stadler.
