RFID

The aim of this application is to discard unwanted RFID tag-reads by improved reader triggering.
Advanced microwave radars & IR sensors are minimizing antenna cycles and unwanted tag readings. Our products, Condor ID & Activ8 THREE ID, are combined sensors where the microwave radar is detecting the direction of the target & the IR sensor is giving a START signal to properly  trigger the antennas.

Solution

The Condor ID allows keeping the UHF antennas switched as long as necessary because it monitors the whole zone where the tags are most energized. If the antennas are switched by mistake without anything crossing the reader gate, an error code can immediately be generated to indentify the concerned readings and take action in the middleware to reject the readings.

The Activ8 ID is offering a very short reaction time (64 ms) and an advanced monitoring feature (according to SIL2 safety level) helping identify any error occurrence and hence portal down time due to possible failures of the movement sensor.
The Activ8 & Condor ID can be installed up to respectively 4 & 5 m height.

If it is only requested to detect approaching goods, then basic radar sensors can be used, such as the Falcon, Eagle, ...
These sensors generally feature the possibility of one-way and two-ways sensing detection (lien vers techno radar).
Depending on the mounting height of the sensor, the Falcon range or the Eagle range will be more convenient.
